Month of April I've been pretty quite since I worked about 7 days a week every week of it, except for this weekend!
It was so refreshing to rip out weeds and destroy their insidious plans to take over my little plot of land I created in my backyard for my vegetable garden. I'm anxious this year to plant more and utilize my yard to make the most out of my time and what seeds/plants I can afford to get this year. I didn't take any photos to document my path of destruction today but plan on taking pics of my garden as it blooms this year.

Wah Wah Wah
Instead of 15 minutes it took me almost an hour to get home today after training. Stuck in traffic I began to fret about chores that needed to be done, bills yet to be paid this month, hospital visitations, when the last time I actually cleaned my car, etc.
Wah Wah Wah
Stressing and worrying over things at that moment that I had no power or control over was ridiculous! I turned up my radio a bit and just focused my thoughts on the music and the snails passing out my car in the midst of a traffic jam. Being overwhelmed with starting a new job this month, and another part time one this week, has caused my routines to be turned upside down. Whether stuck in traffic or at home I plan on taking a moment not to reflect but to deflect the anxieties and stress that the day may have created. Tea is one of my greatest weapons against daily stress so I plan on bring a tumbler of some white tea with me tomorrow morning to job training.

Organic Discounts!
This year I plan on expanding my gardening and planting veggies in succession so I won't have them all ripe at the same time (thereby some may spoil by the time I'd get to use them for meals) so I'm trying to be on the "ball" with seeds this year. This week at Kmart there are organic seeds at 40 percent off! I got two different types of kale, carrots, and radish seeds for under $3.
Buying fresh organic vegetables in the store can be hard on a tight budget but I'm hoping that being the bargain hunter I am will pay off with growing my own food to provide to my family this spring/summer. This week I plan on prepping my garden and possibly even planting some radish seeds left over from last year.

Nom Nom Strawberry Edition!
Though it is freakin' cold still in NEPA I was able to snag some fresh, juicy, and oh so naturally sweet strawberries. Practically everyone in my household has enjoyed them including my pet tortoise, Junior.
He's a little camera shy but he dove into his lil dish and devoured at least three strawberries that I chopped up for him. I like getting fresh fruits and veggies for my family, including my pets as well (sometimes I think they eat more organic foods than I do.)

Kitchen Sink Soup!
This soup practically makes itself in no time!
Prep by making the kitchen sink as scummy as possible, can make this recipe overnight by not cleaning the dishes from dinner that evening. Add liquid dish soap with stuck on food and grease to create a rue for the soup. Fill sink with water and let the soap come to room temperature by attending to other things such as watching the latest episode of the Price is Right or staring at a looming pile of unpaid bills. Add various color sponges in sink that are in season :)

Gardening Cheats Progress!
This isn't an April Fool's Day prank my chive plant from the Dollar Tree is sprouting!
I'm not going to try growing potatoes this year, since my attempts last year were an epic fail, but hopefully I'll be able to get some spuds at my local farmers market when it opens this summer and have some fresh chives to adorn them.
I kinda wished I grabbed another herb kit now but I hesitated because I never used them before. When I went to my local store yesterday they only have the vegetable kits left, since I already have some seeds leftover from last year's garden I passed on those kits.
